Wall Display Options

As we move into November, I'm excited to launch our new Deep Space Wall Display product offering. I wanted to provide an easy way for folks to pick their favorite image from our deep space collection, and be able to choose from the absolute best wall display options, so you can adorn your home or office wall with your very own window to the cosmos!
At this time, you can order a 16" x 24" display on either luminous pearl photo paper or directly infused into aluminum metal for the most stunning impression.
Having experimented with different media and print options, I believe that these two media choices are by far the best suited for displaying astronomical images - most especially our galaxy and nebula spacescapes.
In our catalog, you'll see a new entry labeled Deep Space Wall Display - 16" x 24", and when you click on that, you can scroll through a list of thumbnail images to choose the space vista you want for your display. For the base price you will receive your chosen image printed on Luminous Pearl Paper, with a glossy, plastic laminate protection. It comes mounted on a 1/8-inch hardboard, masonite backing. For an additional charge, you can instead choose to have your luminous pearl-print mounted on a 3/4-inch standout mount with keyhole hanger, so it is ready to hang on the wall.
The premium choice is, I believe, the ultimate print medium for astroscapes -that is "metal prints." With this option, the image is fused into a sheet of aluminum metal, giving incredible depth and vibrance to the display. It's also extremely durable - you can hang these in a bathroom, or spray them down with a window cleaner.
The standard mount for metal prints is called an insert frame. As shown here, it's a rigid rectangular frame that comes with both a wire hanger and a French-cleat bracket so that it's ready to hang on the wall. This design "floats" the image out from the wall, creating a beautiful modern look. This is the option I've chosen to mount my own images here at the observatory. But if you really want to impress your friends, you can transform your metal print into a museum-like piece of decor by upgrading to a metal float frame. With this option, the metal print is floated within the frame, allowing a 1/4-inch gap around the edge giving it a standout feel.
I've added a "Print Media & Framing Guide" to illustrate these options more clearly. The goal in putting this together was to help you make a confident choice and receive a quality wall display that will really showcase the natural beauty of these astronomical places.
