Around the end of August, I captured 275 subframes of the Cat's Eye nebula. Exposure time for each was 5 minutes, and I used my one-shot-color QHY600C.
I'll be processing this data over the next few weeks, so hopefully very soon I'll have a reasonably detailed image of this fascinating planetary nebula. I tried imaging this target previously with the RASA, but it was just too small in the sky for such a wide-angle instrument. So I am very excited to see how this f/11 data turns out.
After that, I'll be processing a close up view of the Wizard Nebula - again using data from the 14" EdgeHD, so it will be interesting to see how this compares with the previous RASA image of this region (shown here) from around the same time last year.
Over the next few weeks, you can expect to see some cool new stuff arriving in our store, i.e. "Shameless Commerce Division", as the Tappet Brothers would say. We're expecting a variety of new merch, such as T-shirts and other items celebrating various space exploration missions. And we're looking to provide more options for you to get glass and metal prints which are really the best way to showcase our deep space photos - and they make unique holiday gifts!
